CSS Week 2-Level 2 Choice Books
The lists are are great for planning and quick referrals. This makes our prep work and Readers' Advisory easier, so Staff and users all benefit. Thank you CSS for this useful tool.
Absent Minded
A week ago I signed up for Library Thing and haven't recovered yet. I entered a group of my quirkier books, thinking this would be a unique list that would lead me to mysterious listmakers from exotic locations and found that my number 1 closest match is another librarian from New Jersey!
Our Head of Ref swears by this site. I find it addictive. I have used Good Reads -It's a friendly site and the lists are useful.

After a long break, back to Week 1 Level 2 Exercise :
I added 2 photos. Simber is our amazing listening dog. She is a trained therapy dog and has been visiting the library since 2009 when she was a pup. Simber has been a reading buddy to many children who have also learned about dog care and have been entertained by Simber's growing repertoire of skills. She is so smart she is learning to read- Okay, she mostly looks at the pictures, but she's getting there.
The next photo was taken at a program by the Nifty Heelers, a group that raises puppies for the Seeing Eye. As the older dogs showed their stuff, this little one watched and learned.
After I added the dogs, I wanted to delete a picture of a robot I had posted for no good reason, so I went to Help, learned how to get rid of pesky robots and zapped him off the site. Then I thought of that movie, Forbidden Planet, and the next thing I knew ....

Hmmmmm
Setting up was a breeze. Figuring out how to get back in and post another comment took longer. But here I am!
Our library blogs have been the realm of our reference/ tech staff. We have one for the adult audience that's fantastic and one for the Children's Dept. that is less so. Up to now I've only supplied the content that I've been asked for. Silly me. Now that the process is de-mystified I think I can be more happily involved. \
